"REJOICE always, PRAY continually, GIVE THANKS in all circumstances, for this is God's Will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

As a ministry and as individuals with Chadasha, we are all striving to remember this verse and focus our lives around it daily. If we believe that these words are true, and we do because we believe that the Bible is Truth, we have a lot of changes to be making! Rejoicing ALWAYS is hard. Praying CONTINUALLY is hard. And giving thanks in ALL CIRCUMSTANCES? This seems outrageous! But the Word tell us that it is the Will of God for us! That makes us excited!

All of our American staff is back on the ground here in Port au Prince. Everyone got nice and rested up over the holiday in America, and we are back to serving in Haiti with renewed minds and open hearts, anxiously waiting to see what God has for us as Chadasha this year.

We have a few announcements to make... I will try to be as to-the-point as possible. :)

The Lord has led a new family to serve Him in Haiti with Chadasha! The Rideout family moved down from North Carolina about 3 weeks ago. They will be serving with us in Port au Prince until the Orphanage Retreat Center is up and running, and then they feel like God has called them to move to the beach property and head up that ministry. We are so blessed and thankful to have them here. They are an amazing family of God with only one agenda and that is to make Jesus famous!

We have officially begun the season of teams coming to serve with us and we are ecstatic about new faces and watching people fall in love with Haiti. Last week we had a team from Life Point Church in Tennessee who spent their week serving in tent camps, visiting orphanages and loving on kids, doing siminars at Pernier Church, and just enjoying loving God's people in Haiti. Many of them had never visited Haiti before, and I believe the Lord did major work in their hearts while they were here.
The calendar is filling up for teams coming this spring and summer. If you or someone you know is interested in bringing a team to Haiti to serve with Chadasha, you can click here for available dates and contact information.

Another HUGE praise for our God: this week we saw 2 young ladies come to Christ for the first time! One is the cousin, Marly, of a member of our Chadasha team and the other is one of the ladies from our English class in Karade, Sabrina. Marly heard the Gospel and it's Truth when she visited our Guest House and one of our staff shared it with her. Sabrina has been attending the English class/Bible study for a few months and Sara Sealine [Chadasha staff] has begun building a relationship with her. Last week Sabrina's son was sick, so Sara helped her get him to the clinic and get some medicine. While they were waiting there, Sara shared the Gospel and her personal testimony with Sabrina, and she accept Christ! We stand in awe of how our God can use us when we are obedient.

In other news with Chadasha, the kids at Little Hands and Feet are doing great. We now have 17 kids, 11 of which are in the process of adoption and 3 of which are not up for adoption.

We are getting ready to make another trip in about a week and a half over to Santiago, Dominican Republic, for another round of heart surgeries. There are 5 children who are possibly going to get these lifesaving surgeries, so please be in prayer with us that paperwork comes through and things line up for all of them to go. Several of them may not make it to the next round of surgeries if they don't get their surgery this time.

We know many of you are following closely the story of baby KenKen. He is still doing great and the Lord has blown us all away by healing him, even if just for a season. He is now almost 14 months old, is growing some hair, gaining weight, smiling, crying, and has cut his first few teeth!
[Yes, this is KenKen. No, he's not a girl. Haha. In the tent camps, they pay no mind to what sex clothes are... they just wear what they have].

We are praising the Lord for this baby boy, and all the other many blessings that God pours out on us daily. Even when it's hard and even when things don't go our way, we are striving to rejoice, pray, and give thanks. And we would like to invite you to join us!

  2. I was reading your blog to my husband about the day you had In haiti, before I read matt and sarahs to him so he could understand the day Matt had had. I was crying my eyes out reading it ( for the 3-4th time) and we were pulling up to a dealership at the moment to pick up my husbands car. The salesman was standing there when we pulled up and I was a blubbering mess. You should have heard my husband trying to explain to the guy why I was so emotional! Ha! Keep up the great posts, it helps me see what daily life is Like for you guys and fills in the gaps when when mt kids are slow to blog!!!
