We realize that we have fallen seriously short on updating our blog from Port au Prince lately and we sincerely apologize. We hope you haven't given up on checking here for updates :) We'll try to get back in the groove and do a better job of keeping you posted.
Many of you probably have already heard the news, but just in case you haven't we wanted to bring you all up to date on
Baby KenKen. We met him in October of 2011 when he was 9 months old and weighed 9 pounds. After some testing, we found out he was HIV positive. He battled with the disease for 2 months in the hospital and we had pretty much decided he would die. And then, God touched him with His hand of healing and KenKen began to recover. Before long, he was discharged and in December 2011 we were able to celebrate his 1st birthday! He began to gain weight, grow hair, and teeth. We were overjoyed and amazed at his progress, as was his mother.
We know that God gives and takes away. HE gave KenKen back his life in November, and HE has now taken it away. KenKen passed away on May 18, 2012. We grieve the loss of such a short life terribly alongside his family and friends, and we appreciate your prayers and support as we continue to minister and pray for spiritual healing for his mother specifically. As heartbreaking the loss of KenKen is to us, make no mistake that the Joy our Father feels to have him Home is infinitely more. He touched more lives in his 18 months than many of us will in an entire long lifetime. Our prayer today: Oh Father, use us like you used KenKen. Make your Son famous through our lives, whatever that looks like.
