Heart surgeries are happening in Santiago now! Praise The Lord. Our first Haitian patient, Bob, had surgery yesterday. Although he was scared, everything went as planned with the surgery, and he is doing well. Please pray for Myrlanda as she is scheduled to have surgery today. She is a sweet 9 year old girl. There are also 5 other Haitian children from Chadasha's heart program awaiting surgery, Caleb, Wilgens, Sharly, Carlens and Goerges. Please pray that God will protect them and be with the doctors and staff performing the surgeries. We also currently have 2 other Haitian heart patients with another program there awaiting surgery and 2 more will be coming with Yanik on Saturday. Greg, Kessy and Francia are currently there overseeing the surgeries.
Please continue to pray for a quick and speedy recovery for Bob, who had surgery yesterday! Pray for comfort as this is a scary time in anyone's life, much less a 15 year old boy. Pray for rest as he heals as well. Please pray also for his guardian as she is taking care of him during this difficult time. Pray for strength for her as well. As we all know, hospital rooms, chairs and beds are not the most comfortable place to spend our time, so please pray that each of the guardians will be comforted by the Spirit of God during this time. They are also in a place where they do not speak the language of the doctors and staff, which makes the situation even more frustrating, so pray for patience for them as well.
Most importantly, and above all else, please pray these families deepen their knowledge and relationship with Christ as they are there. Pray for boldness of our staff to share with them the love of Christ and to talk to them about the difficult topics they may encounter. Sharing the gospel is the forefront of everything we do.
