Happy New Year. We want to thank everyone for your prayers for us. There is power,strength, and hope in prayer. We covet your prayers for this coming year. We started a classes strictly for discipleship on Dec 1, 2013. We invited about 15 people and asked them to commit every Saturday morning for the next year to attend the class. We have had 14 of the people show up for the class. The first 3 classes were about how to study the bible and the next several classes will be about how to communicate what the bible teaches. We are using a program called TTI (The Timothy Initiative). Are goal is to train our students to start their own bible studies in their communities.We will do this by giving them a good biblical foundation in our weekly class and have then have start bible studies or classes of their own. They will need to do this in order to receive a certificate for the course.
We are calling the discipleship classes "Making A New Song"
Making A New Song
Psalms 40:1-3
I waited patiently for the Lord;
he turned to me and heard my cry.
He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.
He put a new song in my mouth,
a song of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear the Lord
and put their trust in him.
he turned to me and heard my cry.
He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.
He put a new song in my mouth,
a song of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear the Lord
and put their trust in him.
These 3 verses are an image of what God has done for each one of us who has come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. He not only saves us but puts a new song in our month, a song of praise. Our hope and desire should be that our lives will be a song of praise that causes people to put they trust in the Lord like we have. All the things I hold dear are because of what God has done for me
This is the desire of my heart that God will make a new song of praise out of my life and the Discipleship program in Haiti. This is our hope! We want people to put their trust in Jesus because of what He is doing in our lives.This is our mission as disciples, realize what God is doing and surrender to Him.
We need your prayers most of all. We are asking people to commit to pray for at least a month. To help you to remember to pray we would like to make available to you wrist bands. The wrist bands will serve four purposes. First to pray for us. The color of the wrist bands are red and blue, the colors of the Haitian flag, and have the phase “Making A New Song” Ps. 40:3. Second, to remind you God is “Making A New Song” of praise with your life out of all the experiences you have too. Third, we want to send at least two to you one for yourself and the other to give someone else, with the encouragement to share with that person how God is “Making A New Song” with your life. Fourth, to raise support. The wrist bands would be available in sets of two for $5. We realize many people can not commit to giving monthly, but maybe a one time small amount is possible.
If it is possible we would like to send you two or more wristbands to raise support. You could use them to raise support during a home group, bible study, Sunday School class, church service or just for yourself and an other person. Talk about making a new song out of your life and raise support for the ministry in Haiti. Let us know how many you would need and you can send us the money afterwards or send John Fitts a check for the amount you want at $2.50 each. We can arrange to have any wrist bands sent to you. If sending me a check you can make it out to John Fitts, or for tax deduction "Chadasha Foundation" and mail to :
